About the programme

Industry Connect: EngBio is a six-week online programme for early-career researchers in engineering biology looking to build confidence and capability in working with industry.

You’ll join a small group of 15–20 researchers from across the UK, creating space for meaningful discussion, peer learning, and a more personalised experience.

The programme runs fully online, with one live, interactive session per week (around two hours), alongside optional short activities to help you apply your learning directly to your own research.

Each session includes conversations with professionals from engineering biology companies, alongside researchers who have successfully built industry collaborations or explored careers beyond traditional academic pathways.

By the end, you’ll have a clearer understanding of how industry works, stronger communication skills beyond academia, and a practical plan for taking your next steps.

What you’ll gain

  • Insight into how EngBio companies operate and make decisions

  • Stronger communication skills for non-academic audiences

  • A strategic approach to collaboration opportunities

  • Practical tools for building industry relationships
