Connecting with Commercial Organisations is designed to deliver exceptional value for researchers who:

  1. Are currently involved in collaboration with an industry partner

  2. Are interested in developing new collaborations industry partners

  3. Are pursuing grant funding for collaborative R&D projects

  4. Want to deliver more impact with their research

  5. Want to start connecting with industry partners but don’t know where to start

Note: Researchers on fixed-term contracts can apply, but priority will be given to academic staff on tenured / permanent contracts. Relevant PS staff may also be eligible to apply. Application does not guarantee a place on the programme.

This 6 week online programme is designed to provide participants with practical tools and insights to engage effectively with industry partners,

Through interactive workshops and activities, you will explore opportunities for collaboration, uncover where your expertise can add value and identify potential partners. You will develop skills to clearly communicate your value to opportunity partners showcase your expertise, and build meaningful relationships through strategic networking.

The programme is designed to enhance your ability as a researcher to connect with industry partners, communicate the value of your work effectively, and build confidence in identifying and pursuing opportunities.

You will also strengthen your professional presence and develop strategies for impactful networking and collaboration.

Through the programme you will:

Increase clarity around your goals for engaging with industry partners

Learn how to translate academic research into value for your chosen sector

Use proven frameworks to spot opportunities and understand the needs of potential partners

Create an impactful 30-second introduction

Define actions to take to strengthen your personal brand

Create a practical strategic networking plan
